THEY EXPORT MILITARY EQUIPMENT TO 50 COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited Garanti Giyim Composite Technologies Factory, which produces ballistic protective systems and functional underwear and outerwear products in Yozgat Organized Industrial Zone.

Minister Varank visited the body and vehicle armors, textile, ballistic and composite materials production lines of Garanti Giyim Composite Technologies Factory in Yozgat, where he went for the opening ceremonies and various contacts.

Chatting with the factory managers, Varank was informed that 20 protective helmets and vests were sent for President Volodymyr Zelenski and his team upon the request received in the first days of the Russia-Ukraine tension.

Pointing out that the protective equipment of military personnel came to the fore especially after the Russia-Ukraine War, Minister Varank said, “In addition to the production of vital defense equipment that protects our security forces, the export of these products is very important in terms of showing the point our country has reached in production. I am very pleased to see this point in the Turkish defense industry, where especially the private sector has breached. Many military equipments are produced and sent to more than fifty countries of the world in Yozgat.”

TESTED BALLISTIC VESTS AND HELMETS BY SHOOTING

Varank, who shot vests and helmets from a distance of 15 meters with 7.62 millimeter ballistic ammunition in the test firing tunnels in the production facility, then examined the post-shot condition of the equipment.

Varank said, “We shot both a vest and a helmet. In both tests, we saw how successful the products were and how the products provided protection against bullets.” said.

Stating that he received information about the company's new investment plans, Varank said, "They will make new investments, especially in high-tech areas. As the Ministry, we will continue our investment support to Garanti Kompozit as we do to every other company.” said.

WE WERE HAPPY TO SEE IT ON TV

Garanti Composites Manager Vedat Tüzer stated that they were asked for a special helmet and vest for Zelenski and his team in the first days of the Russia-Ukraine war, and said, "They requested 20 helmets and vests for Mr. President Zelenki and his team, we sent them, we were happy when we watched them on TV." .

Informing that they produce the lightest ballistic helmets in the world, Tüzer said;

“We export the products we produce in Yozgat to more than 50 countries in the world. At the same time, we have been supplying nearly 80 percent of the ballistic helmets in Turkey since 2013. Until 2013, these were generally supplied from foreign companies with US-Israeli partnerships, there were purchases of 1,900 dollars. We finished them. We supply our products both to Turkey and abroad.”

Tüzer added that they sent Zelenski and his team Soft ballistic Level IV plate vest and Full Cat Edon plate LEVEL III helmets.

Garanti Giyim Kompozit Teknolojileri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was established in Yozgat Organized Industrial Zone in 2004 to produce functional outerwear, ballistic protective body and vehicle armor systems. The factory, which has a production facility of 45 thousand square meters and more than 400 personnel, also exports military food that does not spoil under difficult conditions.
