Carrying out its activities under the coordination of the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Karacadağ Development Agency organized workshops in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa as part of the 2024-2028 TRC2 Region Regional Plan preparations. In the workshops that will determine the roadmap of the region for the next 5 years, sectoral sessions were held in two provinces with the participation of a total of 200 people.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop held in Şanlıurfa, Karacadağ Development Agency Chairman of the Board and Şanlıurfa Governor Salih Ayhan said that with the development plan covering Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır, various elements both locally and nationally will work in coordination.

Stating that they support all kinds of work for the development of the region, Ayhan said: “The public should provide more financial and infrastructure support for investments in the regions. We need to transfer information for studies that will develop the agricultural industry in the region. We must bring the farmer together with knowledge and the soil with water. When the two come together, the transformation is awesome. We are trying to do the best we can. I hope we will be sweating, sweating, running, running. We're trying to bring out the team spirit."

Karacadağ Development Agency General Secretary Dr. Hasan Maral, on the other hand, said that within the scope of the workshops, they came together with the actors of the Industry (Production and Foreign Trade), Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Social Development, Agriculture and Rural Development axes, which are among the important basic development axes of the region, and discussed the problems and solution proposals in these areas. Maral said, “We are preparing the next 5-year development plan for Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa. Within the framework of these 4 basic themes, we held sessions with the participation of stakeholders, including public, civil society and private sector representatives. In the sessions attended by approximately 200 people, we received details of opinions, suggestions, strategies, targets, plans, programs and projects regarding the new regional plan from our stakeholders. In line with this information, current situation analyzes will be made and we will have prepared the draft regional plan by the end of 2022 in the light of other available data.”
