KOSGEB Supports Presentation to Young People

Youth Informatics Festival, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has started. To the opening of the festival held at the Ministry campus; Youth and Sports Minister Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, Presidential Digital Transformation Office Head Ali Taha Koç, Presidency Defense Industry President İsmail Demir and Turkish Informatics Association President Rahmi Aktepe attended.

During the three-day festival, public institutions - organizations and technology companies will set up stands and introduce their activities to the youth. During the festival, various activities such as panels, games, technology competitions will be organized for young people.

On the first day of the festival, a panel on “Youth Supports” was held. In addition to KOSGEB President Kurt, TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal and Ministry of Youth and Sports Education, Research and Coordination General Manager Mehmet Ata Öztürk attended the panel.

Speaking at the panel, Kurt said that with 88 directorates, 107 representative offices and 17 Technology Development Centers (TEKMER) in 81 provinces, they are with the citizens all over Turkey.

Reached 3.9 Million

Kurt stated that they only supported the manufacturing sector between 1990 and 2009, and that their target audience was 400 thousand SMEs, and that they have also supported the trade and service sectors since 2009, and that as of 2022, there are 3.9 million SMEs within the scope of support.

375 Thousand TL for the Entrepreneur

Talking about Entrepreneurship Supports, Kurt said, “You apply with a business plan and a business idea in order to apply for our support program. This business idea can be low-tech or high-tech, we provide support according to the technology level. We provide support up to 65 thousand liras in traditional entrepreneurship and up to 375 thousand liras in advanced entrepreneurship.”

750 Thousand TL for R&D Projects

Pointing out that one can apply to the R&D, P&D and Innovation Support Program either with a business or directly as an entrepreneur, Kurt said, “We have a bit more courageous, higher numbers here. We support you up to 450 thousand liras for machinery and equipment. We provide support up to 750 thousand liras with a total support rate of 75%, including 200 thousand liras for qualified personnel, 100 thousand liras for industrial property expenses, 100 thousand liras for test-analysis and certification expenses, and 50 thousand liras for other expenses.

New Model in TEKMERs

Noting that they revised the TEKMER program in accordance with the conditions of the day, Kurt said, “This program starts with pre-incubation, you do not establish a company yet. They give you a table and a chair and you research your business idea there. Then, if you want a private office in the same building, you will be allocated. In this new model, the TEKMER operator company or the TEKMER operator structure follows you, mentors you and shows you the way.”

Kurt also shared examples of the success stories of entrepreneurs who set up their own businesses with the support of KOSGEB.
