Trade Minister Muş Speaks at the Opening of the 11th "Sarajevo Business Forum"

Minister Muş made a speech at the opening of the Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF), to which Anadolu Agency (AA) contributed as a "Global Communication Partner" and where delegations from 33 countries attended.

Expressing his pleasure to participate in the SBF held in the sister country Bosnia and Herzegovina after two years due to the reasons related to the Kovid-19 epidemic, Muş reminded that the 1st SBF was held in 2010 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Noting that SBF has now become an important event, Muş said:

"It is important for us to see that the SBF, which forms the basis for the sustainable development of the Balkan countries, aims to increase investments and has been supported by Turkey since the beginning, has turned into an important business event. All Balkan countries, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina, are close to the European Union (EU) countries and are conveniently located. Due to the employment conditions, Turkey and other countries will be at the forefront of the regions where companies will be located and where these products will be produced.

Pointing to the experience brought by the Kovid-19 outbreak, which has had a great impact on many companies around the world, when it comes to global companies and trade, Muş emphasized that the geographical positioning of distribution chains is important.

Stating that he believes in the importance of international organizations in Turkey's international cooperation, Muş reminded that Turkey has recently signed free trade agreements with a number of countries, including 5 Southeast European countries.

Emphasizing that Turkey wants to see Bosnia and Herzegovina among the members of the World Trade Organization, Muş said, “The Sarajevo Business Forum provides a unique ground for the emergence of new ideas and actions to explore the potential of Southeastern Europe. As part of this region, we know very well that we are committed to a common history, culture and a common future.” he said.

It was noted that Muş will meet with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Stasa Kosarac, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalic and the executives of Bosna Bank International (BBI) during the day.

- Nearly 300 projects will be promoted

While the subject of "production of products belonging to foreign companies in Southeast Europe" will be discussed at the SBF, which will end tomorrow, nearly 300 projects from Croatia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania will be introduced, especially from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representatives of the Participation Banks Association of Turkey (TKBB), Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) and Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) are also attending the forum.

Supporters of SBF include BBI, Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Economy, Islamic Development Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, while the official airline of the forum is Turkish Airlines (THY).
