Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2022 APRIL ASSEMBLY MEETING WAS HELD

Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ŞUTSO) April Assembly Meeting was held with face-to-face participation by applying the coronavirus measures.

In the Assembly Meeting that took place, Member of the Board of Directors Mustafa Direkçi and Member of the Assembly Mehmet Aslan made speeches that were out of the agenda. After the speeches, the regular assembly meeting was held. The April Assembly Meeting, the March 2022 Assembly Decision, the Accounts Review Commission Decision, the discussion of the March 2022 trial balance sheet, and the 2022 March Activities agenda were held at the ŞUTSO Assembly Meeting Hall under the chairmanship of the Assembly Speaker Ahmet Altun.

The meeting started with the opening speech of Parliament Speaker Ahmet Altun. Speaker of the Assembly Ahmet Altun said in his opening speech: "Dear President, Distinguished Members of the Assembly, our majority has been achieved. Welcome to the Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, April 2022 Ordinary Assembly Meeting. I respectfully greet you all on behalf of myself and the assembly council. I open our meeting.

Distinguished Members of the Assembly, First of all, to M.Cemil Bayuk, who lost his elder brother, to our Assembly Member Mehmet Karademir, who lost his mother, to our Assembly Member Şıh Müslüm Korkmaz, who lost his sister, and to our Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Selçuk Karakuş, who lost his sister-in-law, Enver Şimşek, who lost his uncles. I once again convey my condolences to . Esteemed attendant, as a result of the consultation we had with our President, Mr. I. Halil Peltek, we planned the meal part of the assembly meeting with dinner to dress the orphans. We put a smile on the faces of our orphans, who are sacred relics, through the Moon Light Association. On behalf of our orphans, I would like to thank you once again. May Allah accept all the good deeds you have done.

Distinguished Members of the Assembly, We have observed that events that adversely affected the global trade volume have taken place in recent months, that the growth forecasts in the global economy have decreased, that the energy supply has been adversely affected, and that a national and global high inflation environment has emerged with the effect of the Russia-Ukraine war. The opinions of the experts and the statements of the Central Bank also show that; It is possible that high inflation will continue and increase further. All our citizens and representatives of the business world should take precautions in this regard.

The latest VAT reductions are a positive step in the fight against inflation. However, the government should apply an interim increase in the minimum wage in order to protect the citizens against high inflation; it should take steps to reduce costs for producers, traders, farmers and entrepreneurs. In this period, when the uncertainties arising from high input costs and regional risks brought the investments to a standstill, stockists emerged who made unfair profits from the citizens with various perception methods. This hoarding, which has neither a commercial, an ethical nor a moral basis, must be combated altogether.

Distinguished Members of the Assembly, Although we have been going through a difficult process, the Şanlıurfa business world does not hesitate to invest, produce, work, and serve its city and country, despite all these negativities. However, in order to maintain these studies and services, reducing the increasing input costs, supporting the producers, traders, farmers and entrepreneurs; In addition to these, targets and policies that will accelerate the economic cycle should be determined, and the scope of VAT and SCT reductions in basic inputs such as energy and fuel should be expanded and implemented. We know very well that the return of these supports will be to our city, region and therefore our country.

Distinguished Members of the Assembly, As I conclude my words, I wish that the holy month of Ramadan, whose beginning is mercy, whose middle is mercy, and whose end is salvation from Hell, will bring health, abundance and peace to the entire Islamic World, especially our nation. May Allah accept all the good deeds we have done and will do. Moreover; On last Monday, we celebrated the 102nd anniversary of the liberation of our Medal of Independence, the glorious city of Şanlıurfa, from the enemy occupation, our 11 April Independence Day. I commemorate our heroic ancestors, who contributed to the salvation of our city, with mercy and respect. With these feelings and thoughts, we wish our Assembly Meeting to be beneficial; I once again greet you all, on behalf of myself and the council, with respect."

After the opening speech of Parliament Speaker Ahmet Altun, the agenda items were discussed and voted. Following the voting, Secretary General Nihal Dörtkardeş made the presentation of the March 2022 Activities.
