Şanlıurfa Shoemakers Industrial Zone Reaches 6 New Factories

With the support provided by the Ministry of Industry and Technology within the scope of the Attraction Centers Support Program, approximately 2000 people will be employed in the facilities implemented by our Agency.

The construction of 6 new facilities within the scope of the 2nd Stage works of Şanlıurfa Shoemakers Industrial Zone, which is located within the borders of Şanlıurfa Organized Industrial Zone, has come to an end. 3.5 million pairs of shoes will be produced annually in the facilities that will have a closed area of ​​20 thousand square meters in total. Karacadağ Development Agency General Secretary Dr. Hasan Maral said the following about the project: “As the agency, the focus of our work with all our stakeholders is to develop new employment opportunities. Şanlıurfa has the youngest population in our country with an average age of 20.1 and its biggest problem is unemployment. In order to take advantage of this structure, which is seen as a disadvantage, we are implementing important projects with our Ministry of Industry and Technology. In this context, the construction of 6 new factories in the 2nd phase of the Şanlıurfa Shoemakers Industrial Zone Project, the first phase of which we presented to our investors last year and which provides employment for nearly 2 thousand, is about to be completed. We will have delivered the factories to the investors in a short time. Thus, Şanlıurfa, in which important brands of the shoe industry have recently invested, will become the new production center of the Turkish shoe industry with the realization of new projects.”
